Eagle News Network

Eagle News Network (ENN) is a short-segmented daily news program, which begins each morning at 8:05 a.m. Every morning as the cameras roll, students in their classrooms are tuned in for 15 minutes to Channel 71 - The World of John Adams School. At this time, students act as anchors for the news and weather, operate cameras and audio/visual equipment, and direct news production.

Students in fourth and fifth grade are eligible to apply for these positions by filling out an application. The only requirement is good behavior.

Special features of the news are the Pledge of Allegiance, weather report, Top Eagle contest, cafeteria menu, birthdays and scheduled presentations from classrooms. An outstanding feature of the ENN program for many years is a geography challenge with clues called, Where in the World Are We?

The ENN Program gives students a vested interest in mastering skills necessary in becoming contributing members of society. Oral communication and writing skills are being learned and practiced live during on-air productions. Students embrace the value and quality of work while making positive contributions to their school community.

Quiet on the set! Stand by! Going to camera!
