Alexandria City Public Schools is committed to achieving the vision of everyone becoming a life-long learner. Toward that end, the school district will provide adult learners with access to high quality and affordable educational opportunities that are relevant to their needs. Adult education curriculum will be based upon those competencies necessary for enhancing participants' further education, employment, or personal enrichment.

- Adult education programs will help to increase our parents' ability to interact confidently with their child's education.
- Adult Education curriculum will provide guidance that develops in participants an awareness of the continuum of lifelong learning.
- Curriculum will enhance participants' participation, understanding and contribution to the larger community.
