Registration for Children Who Speak a Language Other Than English or Were Born Outside the U.S.
Kindergarten registration is held in the ELL Center for children who speak a language other than English in the home or were born outside of the United States. Families who may need assistance because English is not their primary language may also register at the ELL Center. The ELL Center is located in Alexandria at 4701 Seminary Road in the Ellen Coolidge Burke Branch Library building (on the ground level). Hours and days to register are 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please call 703-461-6550 for more information. The documents required for registration at the ELL Center are the same as those required in the schools. Students are assessed for English proficiency at the ELL Center to determine eligibility for ELL services. More information on ELL services is available at: http://www.acps.k12.va.us/curriculum/ell/.
