Sara Schafer has served as an assistant principal of Francis C. Hammond Middle School since 2006. After teaching for six years in North Dakota, Ms. Schafer began her ACPS career teaching first grade at James K. Polk Elementary School. She became a Reading Recovery Teacher in 1999, and began teaching fifth-grade at Matthew Maury Elementary School in 2000. In 2001, she moved to Hammond as a sixth-grade mathematics teacher and earned National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist. Ms. Schafer continued to prove herself as an accomplished leader and educator as an assistant principal for three years. She earned a B.S. in Education from Valley City State University in North Dakota, where she minored in Spanish and Early Childhood Education, and a Master's in Education from George Mason University.
Vincent Jarosz

Vincent Jarosz was an assistant principal at George Washington Middle School, where he supervised and evaluated teacher performance and served as the instructional liaison for science and physical education. He has been with ACPS during his entire teaching career. Beginning in 2001, Jarosz taught P.E., health, math and reading prior to becoming a resource teacher and Health and Physical Education department chair at T.C. Williams High School Minnie Howard Campus in 2006. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health and a Master's in Education Leadership, both from George Mason University.
