Absences should be reported to the main office by 8:00 a.m. that day. Please call Cora Kelly's main phone number or leave a message in the voice mail system by calling 703-706-4449.
Please send a written excuse with your child explaining their absence from class when they return. Parents/guardians must sign their child out in the front office when picking them up early for any reason. If your child must leave school early because of illness, emergency or appointment, please send a note to the teacher on that day. Students will be sent to the front office to await pick-up by a parent, guardian or previously identified adult.
Your child should be present in school every day that he/she is physically able. Good attendance is critical to success in school. Habitual absences or tardies could result in missed work, disrupted learning and failure to be promoted to the next grade. The attendance clerk, social worker and administrators closely monitor absenteeism.
