The Maury PTA reinforces and amplifies the Maury community's priorities by providing excellent programs and enrichment opportunities for all Maury students. Currently, the Maury PTA's after school programs include: Chess Club, Science Club, Tae Kwon Do, Art, Guitar Lessons, and Theatre. In addition to world class after-school programs, the Maury PTA devotes considerable resources to supporting literacy enrichment opportunities throughout the school year to ensure that every Maury student appreciates the wonders and possibilities available to readers through quality books. These literacy enrichment opportunities, which include enabling students to interact with popular authors, have been a priority of the PTA for the last several years. High quality experiential learning opportunities are also made possible to Maury students through the financial support and dedication of the Maury PTA, including the outdoor classroom and the Maury Butterfly Garden.
In addition to programs and enrichment opportunities, the Maury PTA also focuses on building and strengthening the school's most important asset: the Maury community. Whether through the popular Fall festival, "Maury Socials" dine-outs, the Spring Auction, or myriad communications, the Maury PTA helps sustain and strengthen the bonds of friendship and community among the students and adults who comprise Maury Elementary School.
PTA meetings are generally held on the second Monday of the month beginning at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria, unless otherwise specified. Free childcare is available for school age children. For the latest information on events at Maury, please visit the ACPS calendar of events.
