Personalization Advocacy Customization Engagement (PACE)
We have big plans for the two hours each week your middle school student will be in PACE class. PACE mentors will carry out discussions and activities in the following topics:
PACE Curriculum Features
- Developing a Learner Profile
- Developing a Sense of Efficacy
- Goal Setting and Student-Led Conferences
- Personal Inventories (e.g., Interest Surveys)
- Community Service Options
- 21st Century Skills (e.g., Problem Solving, Decision Making, Communication)
- 21st Century Career Pathways and Exploration
- Areas of Interaction (from the IB-MYP Program) - Community and Service; Approaches to Learning; Health and Social Education; Environments; and Human Ingenuity
Additional Qualities of PACE
- Small class size (14-20 students per teacher)
- All teachers will have a PACE section, except those already teaching six periods.
- A student may have the same PACE teacher/mentor for all three years.
- PACE teacher/mentor will help to track the IAP process and progress
