The mission of Mount Vernon Community School is to create life-long learners and to empower our diverse community to reach its academic, social, cultural, and emotional potential.

Our Philosophy

The philosophy of the staff of Mount Vernon Community School is to provide an educational program which fosters the total development of our students.

We envision Mount Vernon Community School as a center for educational growth. The school supports families in promoting the intellectual, social, emotional, cultural, and physical development of all students. Each student develops the potential to contribute positively to society while effectively pursuing individual life goals. Families, the community, and the school share collective responsibility to educate students. Our community provides continuous support and resources to achieve excellence and equity.

We recognize the unique characteristics of each child and provide a program of basics and enriching activities which will enable our students to achieve their highest potential.
