GW Student Council Association Promotes Community and Service

GW Cares is a campaign sponsored by the Student Council Association (SCA) of the George Washington Middle School Campus to promote community and service. The campaign emphasizes characteristics of the Learner Profile, a list of 10 traits promoting international mindedness and possessed by International Baccalaureate (IB) learners.

"Be it resolved," reads the student government proclamation, "We are caring, principled learners with a global perspective and a strong commitment to our local community."

The SCA, under the sponsorship of Greg Ransom, has sponsored several events related to the resolution, including a seventh-grade dance and Valentine's Day flower sale benefiting the Alexandria Domestic Violence Safehouse, and a sixth-grade dance benefiting the Animal Welfare League.
