Tucker Community Enjoys 5K Fun Run
On Saturday, May 19, more than 300 finishers enjoyed the sunshine, music and delicious post-run treats at the Tucker 5K Fun Run. Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School students, families and teachers alike weaved through the surrounding neighborhoods of Ben Brenman Park and Holmes Run Parkways. Runners and walkers were challenged by the hill under the Duke Street Bridge. They continued along the beautiful tree-lined path of Holmes Run Park before turning around at the 1.5-mile mark. The course took advantage of the rocky terrain at the south end of Ben Brenman Park.
To go along with promoting healthy active lifestyles, participants celebrated the end of the season for the T.R.O.T. (Tucker Runners on Track) team.
