Lyles-Crouch Named 'Virginia Naturally' School for Second Year
The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries on Sept. 12 recognized Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy as a "Virginia Naturally" school for the second straight year. Lyles-Crouch is the only school from the City of Alexandria to be recognized in this way and is one of only 50 schools to receive the designation.
The goal of the school recognition program is to reward Virginia schools' efforts that increase the environmental awareness and stewardship of their students. A team effort by children, teachers, staff members and parents brought the community closer together inside and outside school walls and created programs that helped the school achieve its designation. Lyles-Crouch will receive a plaque and recognition package.
The Virginia Naturally website, a valuable resource for all schools, contains additional information on grants and other opportunities, including professional development.
