Marching Titans Take First in Music and General Effect, Fifth Overall at Invitational
The T.C. Williams High School Marching Titans finished first in their class in music and general effect at the Shenandoah Valley Marching Invitational at Harrisonburg High School in Harrisonburg on Sept. 29. In afternoon competition against the four other bands in their class (AAA), they finished second, missing first by just half a point. Their score was enough to get them into the finals competition in the evening, seeded sixth.
In the finals, the Marching Titans took advantage of feedback from the clinic after their first performance. They were the top finishing band in their class, soundly defeating the band that had bested them in the afternoon. Of the 12 bands competing, the Marching Titans finished fifth overall. Other competing high schools included Spotswood, Robert E. Lee, Wilson Memorial, Millbrook, Hanover and Battlefield. Battlefield took top honors.
Watch the Marching Titans perform at T.C.'s last two upcoming home football games on Oct. 13 and 20.
