Work Continues on Artificial Turf Field at Hammond Campus

The artificial turf field construction project at the Francis C. Hammond Middle School Campus continues, with work on the running track scheduled to begin this week. The drainage system for the running track has been completed. Connecting the new storm water management systems for the field and the parking lot to the existing infrastructure has been completed. The concrete curb around the field has been set. Along the southern end of the field, the retaining wall was erected. In preparation for the synthetic turf material installation, the stone base was placed on the field. In the next two weeks, weather permitting, the exercise equipment will be re-installed and the fence along the field will be set.
