As we continue to bring the dialog about the T.C. educational program and the new high school to PTAs and community groups we are excited that the high school program is such a high priority for our families and the agencies that support them. In recent weeks we have met with the PTAs of Maury, Hammond, MacArthur, Lyles-Crouch, Polk and Tucker, as well as with the City's Youth Coordinating Council and Youth Policy Commission. Attendance at these meetings has been impressive.
Significant attention is being paid to the opportunities that the courses and facilities provide students. As the region's only comprehensive high school, T.C. Williams offers nearly 500 different courses, with two and three year sequences in nearly 20 career and technical education fields. Families are also expressing appreciation for the alignment of guidance, administrative and support services for students. The goal is to improve communications and responsiveness to students and families.
On our Web site you will note several changes to the meeting schedule, most particularly the date for the Ramsay meeting has been changed to March 30, 2006. We encourage you to attend one of these meetings and stay in dialog with us about the high school program.
