Eberwein Elected School Board Chairman
Claire Eberwein has been elected to chair the Alexandria City School Board during the 2007-2008 year which officially began on July 1. Charles Wilson was elected Vice Chairman.
Each year, the School Board holds an organizational meeting on or close to July 1, which is the beginning of a new fiscal year that runs through June 30. The Board elects a chairman, vice chairman and a Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) voting delegate. Sheryl Gorsuch will serve as the voting delegate, with Eileen Cassidy Rivera as the alternate.
Board members also adopted a calendar of regular meeting dates which will soon be posted on the ACPS Web site at http://www.acps.k12.va.us/board/meetings/.
