The Alexandria Health Department, Casey Health Center, 1200 N. Howard St., is providing H1N1 flu vaccine to everyone over 6 months of age during January. Vaccinations are now available to everyone.

The Health Department strongly encourages people in the following high-risk groups to be vaccinated:

  • Pregnant women
  • Children and young adults up to age 24
  • Adults ages 25 to 64 with chronic illness such as asthma and diabetes
  • Healthcare workers
  • Caregivers of children younger than six months of age

Please call 703-519-5979, extension 252, to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will be accepted, but priority at all times will be given to those with scheduled appointments. Both nasal mist and injectable (shots) vaccines will be available. The vaccinations are free of charge.

Note that the facility cannot accommodate double-strollers. Clients are asked to park in the hospital visitor lot that is off North Howard Street.

The clinic will be closed Jan. 18.
