REMINDER

February 3, 2012 is a professional learning day for modified-calendar teachers and an end-of-quarter teacher work day for traditional-calendar schools. Therefore, ALL schools will be closed for students.

February 10, 2012 is a professional learning day for traditional-calendar teachers and a day for elementary student/family conferences. Therefore, traditional-calendar students will not attend school that day.

February 20, 2012 is Presidents' Day and ALL schools will be closed in observance of the holiday.

OUT OF SCHOOL TIME PROGRAM

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS), the City of Alexandria and the Department of Recreation Parks & Cultural Activities (RPCA) have partnered to support parents with child care options on Feb. 3 and Feb. 10. Planned activities include arts and crafts, sports and games. Register now for RPCA's February Power-Full Fun Days program, which will take place at the following recreation centers: Charles Barrett, Charles Houston, Cora Kelly, Mount Vernon, Nannie J. Lee, Patrick Henry and William Ramsay.

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day for K-8 students. It costs $10 each day, but those with free/reduced school meal letters will pay $5. Those already enrolled in the Power-On Out of School Time Program at the above locations don't have to pay. Registration is required. Forms are available at http://alexandriava.gov/Recreation. Snacks are provided but students should bring their lunch.

El 3 de febrero de 2012 es un día de aprendizaje profesional para los maestros de escuelas con calendario modificado y un día laboral de cierre de trimestre para los maestros de escuelas con calendario tradicional. Por lo tanto, TODAS las escuelas estarán cerradas para los alumnos.

El 10 de febrero de 2012 es un día de aprendizaje profesional para los maestros de escuelas con calendario tradicional y un día de reuniones entre familias y alumnos de la escuela primaria. Por lo tanto, los alumnos de escuelas con calendario tradicional no asistirán a la escuela ese día.

El 20 de febrero de 2012 es el Día de los Presidentes y TODAS las escuelas estarán cerradas en conmemoración del día feriado.

PROGRAMA DURANTE EL TIEMPO SIN ASISTIR A LA ESCUELA

Las Escuelas Públicas de la Ciudad de Alexandria(ACPS), la ciudad de Alexandria y el Departamento de Parques Recreativos y Actividades Culturales (RPCA) se asociaron para brindar apoyo a los padres a través de opciones para el cuidado infantil los días 3 y 10 de febrero. Las actividades planificadas incluyen arte y manualidades, deportes y juegos. Inscríbase ahora mismo en el programa Power-Full Fun Days (Días de diversión y llenos de energía) de RPCA en febrero, a realizarse en los siguientes centros recreativos: Charles Barrett, Charles Houston, Cora Kelly, Mount Vernon, Nannie J. Lee, Patrick Henry, William Ramsay.

El programa se desarrollará de 9 a.m. a 6 p.m. cada día y está destinado para los alumnos desde jardín de infantes a octavo grado. El costo es de $10 cada día, pero aquellos alumnos que presenten cartas de viandas escolares gratuitas o con descuento pagan $5. Los alumnos que ya estén inscriptos en el Programa durante el tiempo sin asistir a la escuela Power-On (Puesta en marcha) en los lugares anteriormente mencionados no pagan.
