On Thursday, Dec. 3 James K. Polk Elementary kicked off its Character Counts/Olweus Anti Bullying School-wide program. Our students were welcomed by Destiny Stevenson, our SCA Vice-President and given the occasion by Tyra Symathasong, SCA president. The Anti-Bullying Chant was lead by SST members. Ms. Carter introduced our guest speaker, Ms. Sheri Moten who is in training for the next Olympics in boxing. Ms. Moten encouraged us all to use all the character pillars in and out of school to be successful. Ms. Johnson summarized the program's fine points and gave the students instructions on how to create our "Human Peace Sign" which was done on the blacktop playground. The program was enjoyed and much was learned by all in attendance.
