Summary of Student Survey Results on Teen Wellness Center
(not all respondents answered every question)
- About 450 students responded to a survey about the proposed Teen Wellness Center at T.C. Williams High School.
- Over 80% of respondents said they would use the services. About 45% have visited the Adolescent Health Center in its current location.
- About 57% thought the best location for the center would be inside T.C. Williams High School (29% said it should stay in its current location).
- Most respondents said the best time of day for teens to receive health services is during lunch or after school.
- Respondents said the top major health needs/problems for students at T.C. Williams are (in order):
- unplanned pregnancies
- alcohol and drug abuse
- need for birth control
- depression/lack of sleep
- sexually transmitted infections
- overweight/eating disorders
- poor access to health care
- lack of health insurance
