Suicide Prevention
The Alexandria City Public Schools Suicide Prevention/Intervention Guidelines contain general guidance on suicide prevention and intervention. These guidelines include information on the duties of qualified school professionals (QSP) in responding to suicide threats and attempts, and procedures for conducting suicide risk assessment. They also include protocols for contacting parents/guardians of at risk students, an outline for developing a plan of action for student reentry into school, and additional resources related to suicide prevention and intervention.
