Alexandria City Public Schools offers a free Kindergarten Preparatory (K-Prep) Program at all elementary schools except for Mount Vernon and Samuel W. Tucker (because they follow a modified calendar). The daily four hour program is offered for two weeks in August and is designed to introduce new kindergartners to their respective schools and classrooms. All students are introduced to beginning academic skills and are prepared for early success in school. Breakfast, lunch and transportation are included.
Reserve a space in K-Prep by completing the kindergarten registration process at your child's school and by notifying the school office that you would like your child to attend K-Prep. For more information, view the flier (PDF).
