After consulting with the Alexandria Health Department (AHD), ACPS has decided to participate in the Gunston District scheduled games and the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Championship events for the designated Fall Sports Season. The fall sports season, which includes the sports of competition cheer, cross country, field hockey, football and golf will be allowed to resume as long as Alexandria City stays in the “Higher Risk” portion of the ACPS “Level of Community Transmission” matrix.

ACPS will abide by the regulations from VHSL Return to Play guidelines, along with Alexandria City and ACPS guidelines. However, we still believe the need to continue to comply with CDC guidelines for anyone on school property or in our buildings. We have a shared responsibility to ensure we are limiting the spread of the coronavirus and will focus our energies on bringing our students back in the safest manner.
