Enroll Your Student at Alexandria City High School

Who Can Enroll
Students must reside with a parent or legal guardian in the City of Alexandria in order to attend Alexandria City High School. The school system may re-verify residency any year a student is enrolled in Alexandria City High School. For details, see the school attendance zone information on the ACPS website or call the ACPS transportation office at 703-461-4169.
To start the registration process, a parent or guardian must call the registration office at Alexandria City High School to enroll or re-enroll a student. Alexandria City High School does not accept walk-in registrations; you must call the registrar’s office to schedule an appointment. All registrations will be conducted during business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please contact the registrar, Ms. Marilu Rodriguez, at 703-824-6828 to schedule an appointment. For Minnie Howard registration please contact the registrar, Ms. Chanel Yancey, at 703-824-6735 to schedule an appointment.
After scheduling an appointment with Ms. Marilu Rodriguez or Ms. Chanel Yancey, you may begin the registration process and prepare your paperwork. Please visit the new student enrollment page on the Alexandria City Public School website to download forms.
Any student enrolling in a Virginia public school for the first time must provide:
- Certified original birth certificate
- Proof of Residency
- Updated records listing dates of each state-required immunization
When transferring, students must provide an official transcript and report card from their previous school and, if applicable, a copy of an Individualized Education Program (IEP). After registration is completed, the Registrar will request a transfer of records from the previous school.
