Future Project Partners

  • ACPS is excited to announce plans to partner with NOVA to provide an Early College program on their Alexandria campus. We are also looking forward to opportunities to provide professional development for teachers, technological curriculum enhancements, programming for students with meaningful career exposure and work-based learning with the arrival of Amazon and Virginia Tech’s Innovation campus.

    Early College at NOVA

The Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and ACPS are partnering to explore the possibility of providing a program that lets students finish their high school diploma at the same time they acquire an associates degree or two years worth of college credit.  Rising 9th graders will attend classes at the Tyler Building on NOVAs campus and finish a designated pathway of courses over the four years, including information technology and general studies. We hope to offer the program to students who will enter 9th grade in 2021.

    VTech, Amazon and ACPS

ACPS is proud to be part of a historic partnership with Virginia Tech and Amazon’s new headquarters to be built in Northern Virginia. The partnership with Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus will increase investment in the tech-talent pipeline and give ACPS access to new resources related to computer science education. These resources may include ongoing professional development for current and future teachers, high-quality curriculum and related resources, summer and after-school programming for students, and meaningful career exposure and work-based learning opportunities in high-demand fields. Read More
