Dr. Everson

Dr. Izora Everson is the School Principal of the Alexandria City High School Satellite Campus and the Director of Online Learning for ACPS. She brings eighteen years of educational experience with grades 9-12 and a specific concentration in Social Studies and Instructional Technology to the role.

Everson earned both her doctoral degree (2019) and her administrative credential (2009) from Johns Hopkins University. Previously, she attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR for her Master's and Bachelor's degrees. 

Prior to becoming the principal of Satellite and Director of Online Learning, she was a Technology Integration Specialist at T.C. Williams for two and a half years. During this time, she worked closely with teachers to help them integrate instructional technology into their classrooms. She also served as a social studies teacher and department chair in Prince William County for ten years.

Everson is a native Oregonian. While she misses access to nature on a daily basis, she loves the easy access to D.C. for the variety of cultural and educational opportunities. She is an avid traveler, amateur photographer, art history nerd, and enjoys kickboxing and running to de-stress.

Ms. Teresa Gordon

Mrs. Teresa Gordon is the School Psychologist serving T.C. Satellite Campus and Chance for Change Academy. While she has been with ACPS for 4 years, her School Psychologist career spans more than twenty-five years. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a Master of Science degree in School Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Mrs. Gordon is also a certified Instructor in Youth Mental Health First Aid and Restorative Practices.

Over the years, Mrs. Gordon has delivered psychoeducational services to students of all ages and demographics across a diverse range of public schools, as well as in private practice in Ohio and Virginia. She has a strong interest in mental health and especially enjoys working with, and on behalf of, adolescents, young adults, and their families.

Among Mrs. Gordon’s most cherished roles are wife and mother. She enjoys music, travel, writing, and spending time with friends and family. She is also an active member of her church. If asked to capsulize the view she holds about every single person she meets, Mrs. Gordon would simply say, “You Matter.”

Ms. Griles-Gibbons

Ms. Qiana Griles-Gibbons has been the Science teacher and mentor at TCW Satellite since 2013 and has worked in ACPS since 2008. This year she will be teaching Biology, Earth Science, and Ecology, and mentoring other science courses including AP Environmental Science and honors courses. 

Ms. Gibbons is a native New Yorker and studied at Utica College of  Syracuse University and has a BA in History and a BS in Biology.  She loves listening to music,  traveling,  and learning in general:)  Even more so, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  Prior to teaching, she worked in the medical and social services fields. She is a  proud alumni of the Educate VA Career Switchers Program (NOVA) and has worked with students of all ages (2-21) and from diverse backgrounds.  Ms. Gibbons has also taught at the Medical Education Campus (NVCC) as an Adjunct Professor. 

“I have always considered myself a "why" person.  I love learning about the "how's" and "why's" of the world around me.  So naturally, I find myself drawn to science, history and teaching- I get excited to learn about something new. Even if you don't want to pursue a career in science, I hope I can impart my love of learning on you!”

She loves teaching at Satellite and the supportive and inclusive learning environment it provides to students. Of special note: Ms. Gibbons loves taking students on field trips-both locally and in the DC/VA area! Her dream is to take students on an international school trip! Ms. Gibbons serves on various committees/teams including Restorative Practices, PBIS and Equity. She looks forward to working with each of you this school year!

Mr. Simon Guggenheim

Mr. Guggenheim (he/him) is the social studies teacher and mentor at TCW Satellite. He has been with ACPS since 2016, previously teaching at TC Williams- Minnie Howard Campus. This year he will be teaching World History and Geography 1500-Present, US & Virginia History, and Virginia and US Government, as well as mentoring other social studies courses including World History and Geography to 1500, AP and honors courses. 

Mr. Guggenheim was born in Washington, DC and raised in suburban Maryland. He received his BA in Psychology from the University of Maryland and his MA in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh. He enjoys watching movies, the outdoors, world travel, and is a diehard supporter of the Capitals, Nationals and FC Barcelona. He has traveled to 6 continents, and has lived in Israel and Kenya. Mr. Guggenheim and his family are proud new residents of Alexandria. 

He is very excited to be teaching at the Satellite campus for the first time, particularly because he thinks students here are very well positioned to be successful in the current ever-evolving learning paradigm. Mr. Guggenheim is passionate about working with students to broaden their understanding of their world, how it got to be the way it is, and how they can wield their power to shape it going forward. Ms. Linsenmayer-Morse

Ms. Betsy Linsenmayer is the Mathematics Teacher at the T.C. Williams Satellite Campus. She has more than ten years experience teaching Math and ESOL at the middle and high school levels in northern Virginia, as well as internationally at the university level. In addition to teaching high school mathematics in the Satellite learning model, she has experience in traditional classroom instruction of all secondary levels of mathematics from Math 6 up through Algebra II.

Ms Linsenmayer originally earned her BA in German from Penn State University, and her MS Ed from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, certifying to teach German. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the former Soviet republic of Uzbekistan (1995-97), teaching in the English department at Urgench State University and Medical College. Upon returning from Uzbekistan, she added ESOL to her teaching license, and then earned her Mathematics degree from George Mason University in 2013, adding Mathematics to her licensure.  

In addition to volunteering in Uzbekistan, she has lived and worked in Germany, and has studied German language and literature at the Universität Bonn.  

Ms Linsenmayer is an avid bicycle commuter, and enjoys baking, hiking the National Parks, keeping her world language skills honed while exploring both new languages and different fields of math for fun (yes, really!), and singing with the City Choir of Washington.

Ms Linsenmayer greatly enjoys working with our students as they discover the elegance and beauty of math, and welcomes communication via email and phone.
