Volunteer Application Process
If you are volunteering to support an Official ACPS Partner, please follow the steps below. We work with our partners to help with the application and screening process. If you are applying below, it means that you have first been confirmed to work with the partner organization and are now ready to become an approved ACPS volunteer.
1. Apply Online
Visit www.acps.k12.va.us/volunteer to complete the application.
Please have all the information available: Your full name, date of birth, current address, phone number, email, and name of the partner who you are volunteering for. Remember, please ensure that you have signed the code of conduct as part of the application process.
2. Get Approved
It can take up to 10 working days for us to complete a volunteer background check. We will let you know if your application has been approved or denied by email.
3. Receive Your Badge
Once you receive an email from us with your approval confirmed, please schedule a ZOOM call with our volunteer specialist. Your ACPS volunteer badge will then be mailed to the address on file. For this part, please have a photo ID available during this appointment.
4. Start Volunteering
Congratulations! You are now an official ACPS Volunteer. Let the ACPS Official Partner point of contact know that you have been approved and ready to volunteer for that organization.
