Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is thrilled to announce that we are continuing our summer learning enrichment programs for all current PreK-8 students!
ACPS Summer Learning 2024 will consist of four weeks of in-person learning from Monday, June 24 to Thursday, July 18. Learning will take place every Monday to Thursday. No school Fridays. No school Thursday, July 4, 2024. Some programs have different dates. Please click on the different programs offered to the right.
We are looking forward to providing another hands-on summer learning experience for our students that focuses on STEM in grades K-5 and Career Exploration in grades 6-8. Current students in grade 8 will also have the opportunity to participate in Music, Theatre and Dance and/or Health/PE 9 in-person camps. High school in-person summer learning is only for students who need credit recovery courses. New credit courses will be taught through an online vendor. We are excited for our summer learning programs and the number of students we can serve in summer learning will be determined by our staffing and school location capacity.
We highly encourage you to register early, the number of students we can serve in summer learning will be determined by our summer learning sites and staffing capacity.
Most summer opportunities are free to all students, with the exception of new courses at Alexandria City High School. Any student whose circumstances have been impacted by COVID-19 or is eligible for Free or Reduced Price Meals can access these classes for free by contacting their school counselor.
