2026 ACPS Retirement Ceremony Recap

The dedication and unwavering support of our Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) retirees was celebrated during a June 2, 2026, retirement ceremony. This year, 47 retirees with a combined 1,146 years of service, bid farewell to ACPS. Many of the ACPS employees who retired this year served in their positions for more than 30 years—with one being with the school division for 41 years.

This year’s ACPS retirees served in a variety of positions, including as teachers, social workers, bus drivers, security personnel and support specialists in our schools and offices across the school division. These individuals worked with integrity and passion and their impact on ACPS, students and the Alexandria community is incalculable and will be realized for years to come.

In attendance to celebrate ACPS retirees were Superintendent Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt, School Board Chair Dr. Michelle Rief, Vice Chair Chris Harris and School Board Member Tim Beaty, as well as senior leadership members Dr. Emily Dillard, Dr. Marcia Jackson and Kamika Valmond.
