Meet the ACPS Partner: Technomics Inc.

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is fortunate to count dozens of dedicated businesses, community organizations and institutions of higher education as partners working with us each day to inspire students and address barriers to learning. Our “Meet the ACPS Partners” series is how we proudly thank these organizations and share their powerful, positive work with the community. This week, we caught up with Technomics Inc. Senior Associate/Data Engineer Ainsley McLaughlin. Technomics Inc. serves Alexandria City High School (ACHS).

Tell us about your organization. What’s your mission statement? How do you work with ACPS students, families or staff?

The Technomics Community Service Team's mission is to harness the passion and skills of Technomics employees to support our local communities, empower individuals to give back and promote a culture rooted in service, generosity and shared values. Through volunteer opportunities, fundraising efforts and lasting partnerships, we strive to make community service a meaningful and accessible part of who we are as a company.

How long has your organization been (officially/unofficially) partnering with ACPS?

Technomics Inc. has been partnering with ACPS since 2021.

If you could describe the impact of your work with ACPS in three words or less, what would they be and why?

We would choose Transformative, Collaborative and Empowering. Our vision for working with ACHS is to transform students’ lives and career trajectories through scholarships and support, by bringing together our employees, educators and the broader community. Together, we aim to empower students with the tools, guidance and confidence they need to succeed, while also empowering our employees to make a meaningful, tangible impact.

What is a recent bit of good news about your organization or a feel-good story that you can share about your work?

One recipient of the Technomics Innovation Scholarship wrote: "Receiving this scholarship not only eases the financial burden of my education, but it also allows me to focus fully on pursuing my dream without added worry. Your belief in students like me inspires me to work even harder and motivates me to give back to others once I achieve success."

What is one thing most people might not know about your organization's work?

The Community Service Team is made up of and facilitated by almost exclusively junior associates at the firm passionate about supporting the local community through creative events and initiatives within and outside the firm.
