Christie Goodman - Appointed William Ramsay Assistant Principal

Christie Goodman returns to Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) and will serve as the assistant principal at William Ramsay Elementary School (William Ramsay), as of July 23, 2025. Goodman has a proven ability to lead collaborative teams, engage diverse stakeholders and drive the successful implementation of school improvement initiatives that enhance student outcomes. She is a results-driven instructional leader with over 10 years of experience in Title I schools and is skilled in using data-driven strategies to close achievement gaps and foster academic growth.

Goodman served as an assistant principal at Fairfax County Public Schools where she supervised and evaluated instructional staff members, ensuring effective teaching practices aligned with school division and state standards. Previously at ACPS, Goodman was an instructional specialist for Advanced Academic Services (6-12) where she identified performance trends to track the progression of Young Scholar students enrolling in honors courses. Goodman was also a Title I School Improvement Coach at William Ramsay where among other accomplishments, she established a collaborative school attendance team to holistically address absenteeism, resulting in a 14% reduction in absenteeism within the first year. At William Ramsay, she also served as a second and third grade teacher and team leader.

Goodman earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Virginia.

She received a Master of Education in elementary education from Howard University and post-master’s certification in educational leadership and administration from George Mason University. Goodman is currently a doctoral candidate in educational administration and supervision at the University of Virginia.
