City of Alexandria Requests Input on Community Health Improvement Plan

Landmark/Van Dorn – Let's Make Our Neighborhood Healthier." It invites neighbors for crafts and conversation on April 8 at Patrick Henry Rec Center. Includes a QR code for RSVPs, a map with highlighted routes, and encourages voting on focus areas online. The tone is community-focused and inviting.

The City of Alexandria would like community input on how to invest time and resources in the Landmark and Van Dorn area to support a healthier community. Join the conversation at the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) – Landmark/Van Dorn Coalition meeting.

  • When: Sat., April 18, 2026, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
  • Where: Patrick Henry Recreation Center
  • Purpose: Talk with people who live or spend time in the Landmark and Van Dorn area about how they think the City of Alexandria (including our government agencies, school groups and community partners) should invest time and resources to support a healthier community.

This is one of the final opportunities for community members to vote on the Landmark and Van Dorn focus areas, and the City especially wants to hear from those who know the neighborhood best. In addition, the City’s Mobile Art Lab will be there, making it a fun event for families.

Background information about the Landmark and Van Dorn coalition’s progress is posted on the City of Alexandria CHIP planning webpage.
