“Pass the Heart” to Celebrate Kindness

This school year, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is proud to launch Pass the Heart, which is a division-wide celebration of kindness, compassion and the people who make ACPS such a special place to learn and grow.

As part of the campaign, each ACPS school and department has received a wooden heart. The heart is passed along from one staff member to another in recognition of their “heart work” — acts of dedication, care and excellence that make a difference in the lives of our students and colleagues.

The goal is simple: to create a ripple effect of positivity across ACPS by recognizing the everyday contributions of staff and celebrating the culture of kindness that defines our schools. Throughout the year, these stories will showcase the many ways our employees go above and beyond to support students, families and each other.
