Remembering the Titans: 25 Years Later Event

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) invites the Alexandria community to join us in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the beloved film Remember the Titans and the lasting legacy of the 1971 T.C. Williams High School football team. Their story of resilience, teamwork and unity continues to inspire pride in our community to this day.

This event is proudly sponsored by Comcast and their Xfinity sales team will be onsite with giveaways and fun activities for attendees to enjoy, adding even more excitement to this community gathering.

On Fri., Sept. 19, 2025, two special events will honor this milestone — and both are open to the public.

Titans Tailgate

Alexandria City High School – Main Gym
5:30 – 7 p.m.

Kick off the evening with a celebration of Titan pride! Connect with fellow fans, enjoy the community spirit, and get ready to cheer on our home team. The tailgate will feature remarks from school and community leaders and plenty of Titan spirit to carry into the night.

Pre-Game Tribute & Home Game

Alexandria City High School – Parker-Gray Memorial Stadium
7 p.m.

Before the big game, join us on the field for a moving tribute to the legendary 1971 T.C. Williams football team, introducing their remarkable story to a new generation of Titans. Immediately following, the Alexandria City High School football team will face off against John Lewis High School in an exciting matchup under the Friday night lights.

The Titans Tailgate is free and open to all. Tickets are required for the Pre-Game Tribute and Home Game, and will be available for purchase online starting Tues., Sep 2, 2025.  The game will also be broadcast live and recorded for fans near and far to join in the celebration.
