Titan Phenom Brings Home Individual State Championship Gold to ACHS

Ten members from the Men’s Swim and Dive Team traveled to the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center in Stafford, Va. this past weekend to represent Alexandria City High School (ACHS) at the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class six Virginia State Swim and Dive Championships - one of the nation's fastest high school meets.

Junior phenom Tobias Damico Lassman entered the meet as the number one seed in the Men’s 100 Yard Fly and stood alone at the top of the podium as the fastest in the state, winning gold in a new school record with a time of 49.10 seconds! The Titans have not had an individual State Champion in 25 years.

  • The Winter Sports Awards Ceremony is on Wed., March 4, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Alexandria City High School (ACHS) King Street Auditorium. 
  • The Spring Sports parents/guardians meeting is on Thu., March 5, 2026, at 8 p.m. on Zoom. Coaches will share the Zoom link with families.

ACHS’ Records-Setting Swim Team Meet

The Alexandria City High School (ACHS) swim team made a splash at the recent regional swim meet. 

  • The ACHS men’s 200 medley relay finished second with a school record of 1:34.87. 
    • Team members include Finn Koeppen, Jonathan Ramsdell, Tobias Damico-Lassman and Leo Ellis. 
  • The men’s 200 free relay placed third, breaking the school record with a time of 1:27.80.
    • Team members include Finn Koeppen, Jonathan Ramsdell, Tobias Damico-Lassman and Leo Ellis. 
    • Finn Koeppen finished fourth in the men’s 200 free and is state bound; 
    • Eleanor Aiken broke a school record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.37. 
    • Jonathan Ramsdell finished sixth in the 200 individual medley (IM) with a school record of 1:57.90 and is state bound. 
    • Tobias Damico-Lassman finished second in the 50 free and is state bound; he also finished first in the 100 free breaking a school record with a time of 45.87 seconds.
