The unsung heroes of education are celebrated during National Assistant Principals Week, April 6-10, 2026. Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) shines a light on these dedicated educators who carry out the “heart” work” as they support their school principal, teachers and other school-based staff. Assistant principals work tirelessly to create a positive learning environment as they help to nurture, educate and inspire every student. When faced with unpredictable challenges, our solution-oriented assistant principals address them with poise, providing assurance that a remedy will be found. The collaborative efforts of our assistant principals in support of our students, staff and families help to ensure student success.
