Three ACPS Community Leaders Named to Chamber ALX 40 Over 40

Three people are pictured in a row. The first is an older man with glasses and a suit. The second is a woman in a red blazer, smiling brightly. The third is a woman with long brown hair, smiling in a white shirt.

Three individuals with Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) connections are among the second annual The Chamber ALX 40 Over 40 Class of 2026

  • Angela Green, assessment and improvement analyst in the ACPS Department of Accountability and Research: As an educator with more than 20 years experience at the school and division levels, Green has dedicated her career to fostering academic excellence and driving systemic change. Green is passionate about systems thinking and believes in the power of elevating student voice to create inclusive and dynamic learning environments.
  • John Porter, ACPS and ACT for Alexandria: Porter was a decades-long teacher, former principal at ACPS’ T.C. Williams High School and a former ACT for Alexandria executive director. He still works for ACPS in various capacities and continues to leave his indelible mark on the Alexandria community, as a volunteer and by contributing his wise counsel to various Alexandria causes.
  • Rosie Wiedemer, Scholarship Fund of Alexandria (SFA) relationship manager: Wiedemer has been with ACPS since 2017 and as the first of her dad’s family to finish college, she wishes the SFA existed back then. Wiedemer ensures SFA event attendees, donors and stakeholders enjoy the success of every interaction—all to benefit Alexandria City High School students aspirations for the future.

The Chamber ALX 40 Over 40 honors leaders who exemplify wisdom, experience and long-term impact and whose professional achievements and community leadership continue to shape the city. This award recognizes 40 accomplished professionals across business, government, education, nonprofits and other fields.

The 2026 class will be celebrated at the 40 Over 40 Awards, presented by United Bank, on Thu., Aug. 13, 2026, at the American Physical Therapy Association headquarters on Potomac Ave.
