Back-to-School Night Events

Various dates and times (see below).

Families are invited to Back-to-School Night events every year to meet the teachers and staff at each school, learn about their students’ classes and engage in discussions about curriculum. Each school will communicate with their students, families and staff regarding the schedules for Back-to-School Night.

Mon., Aug. 31, 2026: Douglas MacArthur Elementary School, Ferdinand T. Day Elementary School, James K. Polk Elementary School, Patrick Henry K-8 School grades K–5 (split grades). 

Tue., Sept. 1, 2026: Lyles Crouch Traditional Academy, Alexandria City High School - King Street and Satellite Campuses. 

Wed., Sept. 2, 2026: Alexandria City High School Minnie Howard (including Early Childhood Programs), and Chance for Change Campuses.

Thu., Sept. 3, 2026: Charles Barrett Elementary School,Patrick Henry K-8 School grades 6-8 (split grades). 

Wed., Sept. 9, 2026: Cora Kelly School for Math, Science and Technology, George Mason Elementary School, Jefferson Houston PreK-8 School grades K-5 (split grades), John Adams Elementary School, Mount Vernon Community School, Naomi L. Brooks Elementary School and William Ramsay Elementary School.

Thu., Sept. 10, 2026: Early Childhood Center, Francis Hammond Middle School and George Washington Middle School.

Wed., Sept. 16, 2026: Jefferson-Houston PreK-8 School grades 6-8 (split grades).
