George Mason Virtual Beam Signing Event

Construction of the new George Mason Elementary School continues to make progress! Join us on Facebook for a virtual celebration hosted by the Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) Office of Capital Programs, Planning and Design on Wed., Sept. 2, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.

We are excited to commemorate the official halfway mark of construction by inviting ACPS and city leaders to sign the final structural steel beam. The placement of the final steel beam marks the completion of the building's structural frame and an important step forward in the construction of the new school.
