ACPS Celebrates Our Wonderful Administrative Professionals

ACPS Celebrates Our Wonderful Administrative Professionals

Administrative professionals in Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) are celebrated on their special day to thank them, April 26, 2023, although they are a vital force serving the division each and every day. Administrative professionals are at the heart of all our work in ACPS as they devote their time and attention to every detail needed in school initiatives.

Our administrative professionals take on a variety of jobs and are always ready to support the team. They are willing and able to tackle new challenges and always exhibit grace under pressure while helping fellow employees stay connected, engaged and productive.

“The roles of our administrative professionals are quite diverse. Their dedication to making sure that every detail is addressed makes them invaluable in supporting ACPS. Our administrative staff truly serves as lifesavers with their can-do attitude and we are happy to shine a light on all they do,” Interim Superintendent Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt said.

The title “administrative professional” is an umbrella term encompassing nearly 100 jobs. According to the International Association of Administrative Professionals, administrative professionals are workers who are responsible for administrative tasks and coordinate information in order to support an office environment. Their job duties range from executive leadership assistance to data entry, office management, record maintenance and receptionist, just to name a few.
