ACPS Families Invited to Northern Virginia Substance Abuse Virtual Panel

Northern Virginia Family Network (NVFN) and Formed Families Forward (FFF) are holding a virtual panel presentation entitled “Schools Respond: Teens and Substance Abuse, Updates from Northern Virginia Schools.” This informative and timely discussion is being held Wed., Feb. 22, 2023, from 7-8:30 p.m. All families are encouraged to attend.

The panel will provide information with representatives of local schools sharing current challenges, how they are being addressed and how families can get help. Panelists include Executive Director of Student Support Teams Dr. Victor Martin and K-12 Substance Abuse Prevention & Intervention Services Counselor Ruthy Mercado, both of whom will be representing Alexandria City Public Schools.

Moderating the panel are National Alliance on Mental Illness Northern Virginia Executive Director Rebecca Kiessling, FFF Executive Director Kelly Henderson and FFF Deputy Director Nina Manganaris.
