ACPS Hosts 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
The Alexandria community came together to celebrate a new cohort of inductees who were welcomed into the Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 14, 2023, at Alexandria City High School (ACHS). Photos are available on the Athletic Hall of Fame webpage.
Superintendent Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt thanked the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, School Board, Athletic Department and all the dedicated individuals whose efforts made the event possible and offered congratulations to the 2023 cohort of inductees.
“We come together today as one team on one journey to inspire our students to exhibit the qualities of a Titan to achieve at their highest potential and represent a model of equity in education and sports at the high school level,” Dr. Kay-Wyatt said.
School Board Chair Dr. Michelle Rief also addressed the gathering, saying, “We are proud to recognize the 2023 inductees for their athletic achievements and for the inspiration they continue to provide for today’s students and future generations to come.”
Ten athletes and coaches, including five women and five men were added this year:
- Mike Agee.
- Rudy Argueta.
- Philomena Fitzgerald.
- Jasmine Goffe.
- Ada Hicks.
- Elena Parent.
- Joseph Pisciotta.
- Donald Riviere.
- Brianna Smith.

In addition, the 1984 football team of what was then called T.C. Williams High School was also recognized at the ceremony as the team was also inducted.
The Alexandria City School Board first formed the Athletic Hall of Fame Advisory Committee in February 2014 and since its inception, the Hall of Fame has welcomed 99 athletes and coaches and six teams. The 2023 inductees will join previous inductees as they are memorialized with a Hall of Fame plaque on the ACHS campus.
