ACPS Is #HereForTheKids During Public Schools Week and Beyond

Public Schools Week, Feb. 27 - March 3, 2023, brings together families, educators and community members to cast light on the value of public education. This year, our public education system is being celebrated as part of the #HerefortheKids campaign.

Meeting the challenges of a public education requires an environment that fosters shared responsibility, consideration of proven strategies and programs and thoughtful solutions. During Public Schools Week, we celebrate the value of a public education and those who have dedicated their careers to ensuring students are afforded equal opportunity and access to highly qualified teachers, staff and resources.

The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) will participate in Public Schools Week by hosting webinars and a Twitter chat. Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) Chief of School and Community Relations Julia Burgos, who serves as NSPRA vice president at large for engagement, will join national education leaders for a webinar entitled “Advancing Teaching and Learning Post-Pandemic” from 2-3 p.m. on Tues., Feb. 28, 2023. NSPRA's Twitter profile will stream the webinar so it can be viewed live.

Celebrating Public Schools Week, ACPS is proud that all of our students have the opportunity to receive an equitable education that will help them succeed in today’s diverse and changing world. Our 2025 Strategic Plan is ACPS’ roadmap to position division schools as a national leader in redefining preK-12 education as inclusive and supportive, enabling all children to succeed.
