ACPS Releases Newly Designed Academic Calendar with Improved Readability

In response to feedback from our community, the Department of Human Resources and the Department of School and Community Relations worked together to update the design of the ACPS Academic Calendar PDF, making it easier for families to check the school year schedule.

“Taking our ACPS families’ concerns to heart, the new document key lists every date when there is a change in school status and the reason behind it,” said Executive Director of Human Resources Kamika Valmond. “On the redesigned calendar, a single color clearly indicates dates when there is no school for students, regardless of whether it is a teacher workday, professional learning day or school conferences.”

Along with the new calendar design, a separate list of key dates during the academic year is provided for easy reference. A separate calendar for the Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School modified academic calendar is available online as well.
