ACPS Summer Learning Program
Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is excited to offer interactive summer learning experiences designed to provide enrichment and intervention opportunities for students. These programs, facilitated by the Office of Instructional Support within the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership, focus on engaging, hands-on learning across different grade levels:
- Pre-K: Exploration of the five senses through interactive activities.
- Grades K-4: Hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
- Grades 5-8: Career exploration opportunities to introduce students to various professional pathways.
- Grade 8: Opportunities to participate in in-person music, theatre and dance camps, as well as the hybrid Canvas course for Health/Physical Education (PE) 9.
- High School: In-person summer learning is available only for students needing credit recovery courses. New credit courses will be offered through an online vendor.

Registration for these programs is open to all students beginning at 8 a.m. on Fri., March 14 and will close Sun., April 27 at 11:59 p.m. We highly encourage early registration because the number of students we can serve in summer learning will be determined by our summer learning sites and staffing capacity.
ACPS’ Summer Learning program will consist of four weeks of in-person learning from Mon., June 23 to Thu., July 17, 2025. Learning will occur every Monday to Thursday. No school on Fridays. Summer learning hours will be:
- Pre-K and Grades K-Four (includes grades three & four Young Scholars): 8 a.m.-noon
- Dual Language: 8 a.m.-noon.
- Grades five-eight (includes grade five Young Scholars), Dual Language Summer Bridge, Theatre Camp: 8:45 a.m.-1 p.m.
- High School and Music Camp: 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (in-person classes only)
- High School Online: Dates and times are variable and flexible
- Special Education:
- Pre-K: 9 a.m.-11 a.m.
- K-Post Graduate: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
