Athletic Hall of Fame Nominations Due Jan. 31, 2024

Athletic Hall of Fame Nominations Due Jan. 31, 2024

Take part in the Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) Athletic Hall of Fame process and submit nominations for the 2024 inductees by the Jan. 31, 2024, deadline. There are four nominee categories:

  • Athletic nominees will be considered primarily for athletic accomplishments in high school, character and leadership. Individual athletes are eligible for consideration five years after their graduation year.
  • Team nominees will be considered primarily for accomplishments at the state level, contributions to the ACPS athletic/school climate, as well as good citizenship and community service. At least 10 years need to have passed since the completion of the team’s accomplishments.
  • Coaches/administrator nominees will be considered on their record while at ACPS, their athletic program accomplishments and subsequent accomplishments throughout their career. Candidates must have at least five years of service/coaching experience in ACPS.
  • Community contributors nominees include community members, staff members or others who will be considered for their contribution to athletics in ACPS.

All nominations are welcome, and the Alexandria Hall of Fame Advisory Committee encourages nominees who are representative of a greater variety in sports, such as female athletes, teams and coaches as well as those from Parker-Gray High School. A list of current ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame inductees is available on the school division website.

The Alexandria Hall of Fame Advisory Committee will submit its selected recommendations from among the submitted nominations to the Alexandria City School Board at its May 23, 2024, meeting for consideration. Inductees will be approved at the June 6, 2024, School Board meeting, with an induction ceremony set for Oct. 12, 2024, at Alexandria City High School.
