Sixth Annual Alexandria Pride Fair

The Alexandria Library builds community by providing opportunities to learn, explore, create and connect. Its ESL II Conversation Club is a space for intermediate speakers to practice English and build confidence. No registration is required.

ALIVE! is a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency and basic needs support to children, families and individuals living in poverty and with hunger in the City of Alexandria. ALIVE! will distribute bags of food to Alexandria City residents. No ID is required.
Virtual Community Meeting: Douglas MacArthur Modernization

The ACPS Office of Capital Programs, Planning, and Design team will provide an update on the Douglas MacArthur Modernization Project and answer questions submitted during the virtual community meeting. Interpreters in Spanish, Dari, Amharic and Arabic will be available during the webinar.

Families interested in learning more about attending ninth grade in ACPS are invited to participate in a guided tour of ACHS - Minnie Howard Campus. Tours will be conducted in English and Spanish.
Early Release Days
Mon., June 12 (Two-hour early release for high school students only)
Tue., June 13 (Two-hour early release for all students)
Wed., June 14 (Two-hour early release for all students)
Thu., June 15 (Two-hour early release for all students on the last day of school)
On these four days at the end of the 2022-23 school year, there will be a two-hour early release for high school students; early release is in place for all ACPS students on three of the days, from Tue., June 13 through Thu., June 15, 2023. The last day of school is June 15, 2023.
PASSAGE: A Juneteenth Journey

This immersive dance performance takes the audience on a movement journey of history, personal stories and resilience — celebrating final freedom for all enslaved people in the U.S. on June 19, 1865. Presented by Pointillism Jazz Consort. Recommended for ages 10+.
Summer Learning Begins

ACPS Summer Learning
Our hands-on summer learning experiences for our students will run from June 26 to July 20, 2023 (registration closed in mid-May). Learning will take place every Monday through Thursday, except for Tue., July 4, 2023. No school on Fridays.
Upcoming School Board Meetings
Thu., June 1 at 6:30 p.m.
The regularly scheduled School Board meeting will take place. A public hearing on the use of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) III Funds is also scheduled to take place at this meeting. Sign up to speak at the public hearing on the use of ESSER III funds. Information about ESSER III Funds. The deadline to register to speak is May 31, 2023, at noon.
