Yom Kippur Holiday

United Way NCA Project Community Connect

Francis C. Hammond Middle School (4646 Seminary Rd.)
United Way of the National Capital Area is a nonprofit that partners with local nonprofits, businesses, donors, and social service agencies to address our community’s most pressing needs. The Project Community Connect event will offer medical screenings, including COVID testing/vaccinations; rental and utility assistance; workforce resources and opportunities; legal services and counseling, clothing and food distribution, and more.
ACHS Titans Football Game with Introduction of the Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
Fri., Oct. 7, 2022, 7 p.m.
Parker-Gray Stadium (3330 King St.)
Join Titan Athletics for a meet and greet with the Athletic Hall of Fame inductees at 6 p.m. Kickoff is 7 p.m., with a special introduction of the inductees to occur during the game. Purchase tickets in advance at the Athletics webpage.
Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Alexandria City High School Auditorium (3330 King St.)
Each year, the School Board honors a select number of graduates, coaches and contributors with induction into the ACPS Athletic Hall of Fame. The event is open to the public, but an RSVP is required. Email boardclerk@acps.k12.va.us by Oct. 5.
Indigenous Peoples Day

There is no school for students in observance of Indigenous Peoples Day. It is a Professional Development Day for staff.
Samuel Tucker Elementary Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are an important opportunity for families and teachers to discuss students’ social, emotional and academic learning progress. Each school will communicate with their students, staff and families regarding the schedule for conferences.
ALIVE! Pop-Up Food Distribution
Thurs., Oct. 13, 4:30 - 6 p.m.
Ramsay Rec Center (5650 Sanger Ave)
ALIVE! is a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing emergency and basic needs support to children, families and individuals living in poverty and with hunger in the City of Alexandria. ALIVE! will distribute bags of food to Alexandria City residents. No ID is required.
