Deadline Approaching: Apply to Serve on the 2030 Strategic Planning Committee by Sept. 3, 2024

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) is excited to announce the formation of our 2030 Strategic Planning Committee and we are seeking passionate individuals from our community to help guide the future of our school division. This is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on the direction ACPS will take over the next five years.

The 2026-30 Strategic Plan will serve as the roadmap for ACPS, building upon the solid foundation of our current strategic plan. Our planning process will prioritize community collaboration, transparency, alignment, systems and processes, and most importantly, equity. We are looking for a diverse group of 40 committee members who are ready to contribute their ideas, provide feedback and work together to shape the future of education in Alexandria.

We are seeking the following individuals to serve on the committee, those who:

• Think Holistically and Creatively: Can see the big picture while considering practical solutions.
• Act as Constructive Critics: Are willing to offer constructive feedback to improve the plan.
• Reflect Our Community’s Diversity: Represent the rich diversity of our school division in terms of background, experiences and perspectives.
• Commit to the Process: Are willing and able to dedicate time to this important work, including attending in-person meetings once a month, starting in October 2024 to January 2025, and participating in ongoing discussions throughout the 2024-25 school year.
