Dive Into Summer Fun with the Summer Reading Program!

Dive Into Summer Fun with the Summer Reading Program!

Join the Alexandria Library in a quest for knowledge by participating in its SummerQuest 2025 program. With the theme, “Color Our World,” SummerQuest is a reading incentive that encourages children, teens and families to make reading part of their daily lives. Be sure to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, which is underway now through Aug. 31, 2025, at each Alexandria Library branch. Earn points by reading, engaging in community events or participating in library programs.

Check out SummerQuest, which has programs available for all ages. SummerQuest is not only a way to keep reading over the summer months, but also provides a variety of programs for all ages and interests.

  • SummerQuest Jr. is ideal for children through rising kindergartners.
  • SummerQuest is aimed at rising first through fifth graders.
  • SummerQuest Teen is for rising sixth through twelfth graders.
  • SummerQuest Adult is for ages 18 and up and offers the opportunity for caregivers and educators to participate.

Sign in to SummerQuest 2025 online or drop by any Alexandria Library to sign up. Visit the Alexandria Library SummerQuest webpage to access the activity logs in, Amharic, Arabic and Dari/Farsi and Spanish.

Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) students have access to the Alexandria Library through ConnectEd cards, which are public library cards automatically given to all registered students.

Public libraries operate as one of the few public safe spaces where everyone is welcome at no charge. The Alexandria Library has a long history of working with the City's most vulnerable populations to provide much-needed services such as Wi-Fi access, computer classes, literacy programs and English language classes.
