Empower Yourself as a Parent/Guardian: Verify Back-to-School Forms by Sept. 30, 2024

Completing the required Back-to-School forms through PowerSchool empowers you as a parent/guardian by guaranteeing Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) staff have accurate contact information to engage with you about your student’s academic progress. It is all made easy by accessing our helpful videos and asking our supportive school staff for assistance. 

It is a rewarding feeling to know that completing the Back-to-School forms is the first step in playing an active role in your student’s education. By using PowerSchool, you will be able to monitor your student’s educational progress throughout the school year and their ACPS journey. This is also your opportunity to express opt-out preferences, letting ACPS know your wishes on student privacy.

Additionally, updating your student’s health information safeguards your child’s well-being by keeping the school informed of any significant changes. Completing the Income Survey — for families of students who attend a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school — ensures your school receives accurate funding for resources such as meals and enrichment programs. Submitting the Free and Reduced Priced Meals (FARM) form — for families of students who do not attend a CEP school — determines student eligibility for free or reduced-price school meals and other educational programs and services.

In order to help our families complete back-to-school forms accurately and on time, ACPS has created helpful videos in English, Spanish, Amharic and Dari to guide you through the process. For families who do not have Internet access or speak a language other than English or Spanish, ACPS staff are ready to help you complete printed forms.
